IT Data Strategy
The Problem:
An international hedge fund with multiple lines of business experienced rapid growth, causing duplication of operational systems and processes across lines of business. In addition, complex point-to-point application interfaces and poor data integration and sharing was hindering the organization’s ability to scale and quickly adapt to business needs.
What We Did:
Adeptyx consultants worked with client leadership on defining the IT strategy and roadmap to overcome these issues and streamline application and data integration. Key contributions by Adeptyx include:
- Identification of key problem areas, built consensus on solution approach and engaged organization on transformation through workshops and discussions with participants from business and IT
- Definition of the target architecture blueprint to facilitate application/data integration and created the initial roadmap/strategy to migrate current interfaces to target architecture
- Identification of technology and data components that could be shared across all lines of business and managed centrally as a part of core services—integration middleware (ESB/ETL), common data store, reporting, and business intelligence
- Evaluation of applicable off-the-shelf products for the core services components
- Recommendation of enabling technologies that would accelerate target architecture delivery
- Assistance to business and IT in developing a suitable data model for the common data store
The Results:
When the project was complete, the client had a clear definition of their IT strategy and a plan for implementing the strategy going forward.
