Investment Operations Outsourcing

The Problem:

A large global asset manager was considering outsourcing a portion of its investment operations and did not have the internal resources to dedicate to an assessment of outsourcing candidates.

What We Did:

Adeptyx consultants helped the manager identify which functions would be outsourced. We also helped them estimate the baseline costs of the current process in order to compare with costs submitted by proposed vendors. Adeptyx prepared an RFP targeted for a select group of investment outsourcing service providers they helped identify.

Adeptyx managed the RFP process including calls with vendors to clarify scope, the evaluation and scoring of responses, vendor meetings and demonstrations, vendor reference checks, and identification of primary and back-up vendors with a detailed analysis of the relative strengths and relevant factors behind the recommendation.

Adeptyx negotiated significant reductions in projected fees of the leading candidates after initial costs came in considerably higher than expected.

The Results:

The asset manager was able to cost-justify the proposed outsourcing solution and proceeded to negotiate the terms of a definitive agreement with the leading candidate.
