Data Integrity and Platform Assessment StudyThe Problem: A large investment management firm was experiencing user dissatisfaction with data quality and data access. The firm turned to Adeptyx consultants to conduct an in-depth analysis to understand the issues, diagnose the problems and recommend ways of addressing their data problems. What We Did: Adeptyx consultants conducted an in-depth study of the systems, processes and data used by the investment manager. Adeptyx reviewed individual job roles and responsibilities, applications used and existing functionality relative to current needs, and explored deficiencies. The assessment identified key deficiencies with existing systems, such as reporting that did not meet needs of end users and excessive use of data licenses. Adeptyx also identified issues with firm’s current data such as inaccessibility of some data, inadequate data quality checks and mistrust or inappropriate use of data. Adeptyx proposed a set of initiatives to the client to address these issues which included: establishing a formal data management function, defining requirements for a data mart, eliminating the need for data licenses for some users, implementing a vendor-based attribution measurement system, and improvements to data communication, controls and notifications. The Results: The client initiated a project to reduce data license usage and definedprojects to remediate other key shortcomings. |
